Our Aims
The Pendennis Leisure mission is to get a 6 lane 25m pool and a teaching pool (both accessible) at the heart of a functioning community activity centre open as soon as possible at the old Ships & Castles site. The journey to achieving that is long, and to succeed we will need significant public investment. While we work to secure that, we have reopened as Pendennis Community Centre.
Pendennis Community Centre is committed to enhancing the wellbeing of its community members through various activities and services. The centre focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals can thrive physically, mentally, and socially.

Our primary aims are to:

1. Promote Physical Health
Fitness Classes: Offering a range of classes such as boxfit, pilates, circuits, seated exercise and dance to cater to different fitness levels, ages and preferences, encouraging active lifestyles.

2. Enhance Mental Wellbeing
Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation Sessions: Regular sessions aimed at reducing stress, improving focus, and promoting mental clarity.

3. Foster Social Connections
Interest-Based Clubs: Encouraging participation in clubs such as foreign language sessions, gardening groups and art groups to build friendships and community bonds through shared interests.

4. Encourage Community Involvement
Volunteering: Providing opportunities for community members to volunteer, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose while contributing to the centre's operations and events.

5. Collaborate with Local Organisations: Partnering with local health services, schools, and businesses to expand resources and support for community wellbeing initiatives.

6. Offer operational Services
Facility Rentals/ Event Spaces: We offer spaces for rent; suitable for meetings, parties, and events, providing necessary amenities like seating, audio-visual equipment, and cafe facilities.
Importance of Community Centres

Community centres play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents. They offer a safe and welcoming environment where people can learn, grow, and connect with others. By providing diverse activities and essential services, these centres help build stronger, more resilient communities.
